IndoGreen Forestry Expo 2009 on 14-17 April 2009 is set as the strategic and effective exhibition to promote the forestry potentials, Indonesian forest products, services and technology and its supporting industries. It will be hosted by the Ministry of Forestry and supported by Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Marine and Fishery, Ministry of Research and Technology, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Industry and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The EC funded environment/forestry projects will participate in a joint exhibition booth in this event. At present there are five ongoing relevant projects, namely:
a) Timber Trade Action Plan for Good Governance in Tropical Forestry (covering Cameroon; Gabon; Indonesia; and Malaysia);
b) Sustainable Lowland Use through Innovative Community based Environmental management Systems (Kapuas district (Central Kalimantann);
c) EC-Indonesia FLEGT Support Project (Jambi, West Kalimantan, Papua and Jakarta);
d) Pioneering a new way to conserve rainforest: from illegal logging to good governance (Central Kalimantan); and
e) Promoting, conservation and sustainable management of the lowlands forests of South Central Kalimantan. (This project will have its own booth adjacent to the other four projects.)
